Carl Reiner once called Dick Van Dyke's talent ''sickening''
Surprisingly, this was high praise.

Have you ever seen someone so talented that it almost makes you angry? If you haven't it's most likely the case that you're the talented person instilling rage in your friends and family, so have some mercy.
As a singer, dancer, and actor, it's almost unfair how talented Dick Van Dyke is. We're not the only injured party here. Van Dyke's close friend Carl Reiner spoke of his friend during an interview with the Ventura County Star.
"He's the greatest single male performing talent working today," said Reiner of Van Dyke. "He's so good it's sickening to us actors who watch him work every day. It's terrible to realize that no matter what you do, he can do it better. He's the jack of all trades - and master."

Of course, it's not enough for Van Dyke to be talented and handsome. He's also incredibly humble. For his part, Van Dyke credited Reiner and his costars for the success of a series like The Dick Van Dyke Show.
"First, Carl Reiner who conceived it and who set the tone that prevailed," said Van Dyke. "Second, the lucky combination of the cast. Everyone cared. We wouldn't let it go on the air if it wasn't right. We'd work many a night till midnight to get it right."
The true success of The Dick Van Dyke Show couldn't possibly be distilled into a few words, to be honest. However, the series introduced us to Dick Van Dyke, which we'll always be grateful for!

You are certainly entitled to like or not like Dick Van Dyke, but I have to say you are
literally the first person I have heard of who did not like him. He has, like Dan Blocker
did, one of the highest Q ratings in Hollywood history, which measures how
beloved a star is, appealing to all audiences across the board.
His entire career he helped local PTA's(1st at his kid's schools) help raise money by
appearing in their talent shows and High School productions of Bye Bye Birdie.
He also has guts, in a production with Redd Fox, a high Foxx whipped out the big
razor he always had on him when he mistakenly thought a stage hand had insulted
him. Life long gym rat Van Dyke charged Redd, disarmed him, and stopped a possible
murder as well as saving Redd's career. In his bio Dick said Redd was a nice
guy unless he was on drugs and reverted to his old street habits he learned as a teen.
