Are these images from The Waltons or Seventies horror films?

Some spooky scenes on Walton’s Mountain would fit perfectly in iconic scary movies.

Like summer blockbusters, modern scary movies really came into their own in the 1970s. There were psychological thrillers, gory slasher flicks and, of course, plenty of haunted houses. The decade also had room for one of the most wholesome shows on TV, The Waltons. But don’t be fooled by its sugar-sweet reputation, there were times when the nostalgic series showed a darker side.

Here are images taken from iconic scary movies and spooky Waltons scenes. Can you tell the difference?

Ten out of twelve. It was a bit trickier than I suspected it would be.

I did pretty good on this quiz. I got an 11/12. One of the images was really tough and that's all I'll say because I don't want to spoil the quiz for other people. Good quiz, MeTV 👍😊🖖!

10 out of 12. MeTV ought to have a quiz of Waltons in Horror movies. I can think of Girls on the Road, Mafu Cage and Mortuary off the top of my head.

That's a great film, with genuinely spooky moments.
The 1963 version of The Haunting is genuinely spooky as well; the first time I watched it it got so intense that I had to stop the VCR. Of course, the fact that I was watching it in the dark at 2 a.m. didn't help.

I haven’t done any quizzes in a long time now and I got 11/12. Not bad if I do say so myself.

10/12. Loved #4 and #9. Rocky Horror Picture Show and Halloween (the original-not the sequels or remakes) are 2 of my all time favorite movies.
