10/10. The original title for this episode was "Joanna." Joanna was the estranged daughter of Dr. McCoy and she and Captain Kirk would have had a romance.
So many changes were made to the script that D.C. Fontana wrote that she had her name taken off replaced it with her pen name Michael Richards.
The insulting word "Herbert" was reputed to have been a dig at Star Trek Producer Herbert F. Solow. It also could have been based upon POTUS Herbert Hoover.
The Aurora spaceship was a reused Tholian vessel with AMT model kit nacelles added to it. The remastered version created an entirely originalmem spaceship.
Skip Homier (Dr. Sevrin) also guest starred earlier on the episode "Patterns of Force" where he played Melakon.
James Doohan did not care for this episode. I'm with Jimmy on that score.
When Mr. Spock says "His name was Adam," I did a groan and eye roll.

You and I should grade ourselves on a curve for these Star Trek quizzes. Still fun to take though.

"Herbert was a minor official - notorious for his rigid and limited patterns of thought."
