Heliocentrism is the astronomical model in which the sun is at the center of the universe. And while we now know this isn't the case, the argument could be made that the pop music industry DOES revolve around the sun. Just look at the recurrences of the word "Sun" across decades of song names!

"Sun," "Sunny," and "Sunshine" are constantly popping up in track titles and in lyrics, too. Hopefully, you're able to recall a whole bunch of them and, more importantly, who sang each.

This quiz is just for fun (maybe even fun in the sun), so don't let a lousy score rain on your parade. Be sure to share your thoughts, and let us know if we forgot your favorite sunny tune!

  1. "Walking on Sunshine" appeared on the 1983 eponymous debut full-length album by which band?
  2. "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" is a song from which band's second album, released in 1968?
  3. Which Beatles album features "Here Comes the Sun?"
  4. Which R&B singer scored a breakthrough hit in 1971 with "Ain't No Sunshine?"
  5. In 2002, who sang the lyrics "I'm gonna soak up the sun I'm gonna tell everyone to lighten up?"
  6. Can you name the rock band that released "Sunshine of Your Love" in 1967?
  7. "Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away..." are the opening lyrics to which show's theme song?
  8. Which grunge act had a hit with 1994's "Black Hole Sun?"
  9. Which band told us, "You might as well be walking on the Sun" back in '97?
  10. The 1983 song "Blister in the Sun" was popular in 1997 because it was in the movie Grosse Pointe Blank. Who sang it?
  11. "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" was the third number-one single for which Motown singer?
  12. "Island in the Sun" is a track from which alternative rock band's 2002 self-titled release?
  13. Beatles Question #2: Which album features "Good Day Sunshine?"
  14. Which folk rock act scored their only stateside #1 with "Sunshine Superman?"
  15. Released in 1968, "Waiting for the Sun" was the title of which band's only #1 album?

Do you know these songs with ''sun'' in them?
