Eva Gabor said that being glamorous wasn't truly important in life
Gabor taught us that beauty comes second to heart.
In today's society, it seems like there's nothing more important than good looks. However, the older you get, the more you understand that looks are meaningless when compared to traits like intelligence and compassion.
Eva Gabor was widely regarded as one of the most beautiful women on television. Gabor and her sisters utilized their allure and glamor to find success in Hollywood.
Despite the fact that she gained fame for starring in the comedy series Green Acres, Gabor acknowledged just how important looks were to the public during an interview with the Detroit Free Press. However, she was also able to share that she felt quite differently about what mattered in her private life.
"I tell you something, if I do not look perfect, I do not go out of the house," said Gabor. "My public pays for me to look glamorous and that is my image. But of course, I know it's not really important, glamor. What's important is what's in my inside."
In her long life in Hollywood, Gabor was able to learn a series of important lessons, namely that your heart, your brains, and your guts are far superior to how you look when you face the world.
"I tell you what's important in life," said Gabor. "Age is not important. But your inside - your inside is very important. Not to be bitter. Not to carry a chip on your shoulder...Not to try and trick people who are much, much cleverer than you."
