Are these cartoon characters from Hanna-Barbera or Looney Tunes?

Up and at 'em, classic cartoon fan!

You can surely tell Looney Tunes from Hanna-Barbera cartoons on sight, but what about by just one character name?

We've mixed up obscure and popular characters alike from both titans of cartoon history to see if you can tell which creator is the mastermind behind each zany toon. Good luck!
  1. TAZMANIAN DEVIL
  2. CAPTAIN CAVEMAN
  3. ATOM ANT
  4. MARVIN THE MARTIAN
  5. MICHIGAN J. FROG
  6. HUGO THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN
  7. THE GREAT GAZOO
  8. DINKY DOG
  9. SAM SHEEPDOG
  10. PENROD "PENRY" POOCH
  11. SPIKE THE BULLDOG
  12. GOSSAMER
  13. BLABBER MOUSE

Are these cartoon characters from Hanna-Barbera or Looney Tunes?

Blabber Mouse would be both because he also had the name in the 1940 Looney Tunes cartoon

Not just Scooby Doo either. How about adding cartoon shorts from the shows named after Huckleberry Hound,Yogi Bear and Quick Draw plus any cartoons that were on those shows. Make Tom and Jerry a half hour on Saturdays and slot in the cartoons I mentioned. Why no Ant and the Aardvark? Roland and Ratfink SUCKS.

I can't believe I missed Hong Kong Phooey -- he's the Number One Super Guy, for goodness' sake.

Aw.... only 11 of 13. Disappointed myself

Missed No 10 Penrod "Penry" Pooch – had no idea and picked Both.
Since BOTH was a choice, deduced that at least 1 was a trick question

Missed No 11 Spike The Bulldog – KNEW in Looney Tunes, but it was BOTH!

Question 13 isn't quite true as there is an obscure Looney Tunes character called Blabbermouse too. He was a WC Fields caricature and featured in a couple of cartoons directed by Friz Freleng in 1940.
Great, obscure trivia
Thanks for sharing

I just scrolled down to see some of the other comments and saw that I took this quiz 18 MONTHS AGO!!!
And it wasn't the first time then either.
Now MeTV is showing it AGAIN???
How any times are they going to show the same quiz?

Had not taken this one before, but some of us have Senioir Moments forgetting that we have already taken them.
What's BAD is when we do WORSE later.
BTW, I only learned 3 months ago about notifications when someone comments on your comment.

11 out of 13.
I'm glad MeTV is bringing back Saturday morning cartoons.
I haven't seen a Bugs Bunny cartoon in a loooong time.
I used to love when he went up against Elmer Fudd and Daffy Duck.
Especially when all three were together.
"Rabbit season, duck season, rabbit season, duck season.....DUCK SEASON, FIRE!!!"
Boom.
"You're despicable."

Who out there knows that droopy dog that looks exactly like Bill Barr?
djw1120 dodgebob 22 months ago
Don't you mean he looks like Donald Trump?
Actually, droopy dog looks better.
He's probably smarter too.

He looks nothing like Donald Trump.

I remember Droopy Dog. I first saw him in the 'fill' sequences when I watched the original Tom and Jerry. He was featured with other characters' shorts like Barney Bear. Later on he was the 'draw' with some of the others continuing to be the 'fill'.

Yup yer rite, Droopy Dog, aka Bill Barr, aka lap dog!
