Let's look at pictures of cool vintage radios on National Radio Day

Most people still listen to the radio, in a sense. Streaming, whether or not its coming from a traditional station, is radio in essence, from people playing DJ on Spotify to podcasts to channels on Apple Music. So radio as a concept is far from dead. What is gone and missed is the physical radio itself.

Radios were some of the most stylish and beautiful consumer products of the 20th century. From the pastel plastic of handheld transistors to the wood grain of home sets, the design of old radios is pure eye candy. We miss these pocket-sized portals to other worlds.

Because today is National Radio Day, let's take a look at some of these gorgeous devices. Do you remember your first radio? What was your favorite radio show?
